Six members of the GMHS school-based enterprise, Organic Beauty, participated in a sales trip to Savannah, GA Thursday, April 11th – Sunday, April 14th. The students had the opportunity to tour SCAD (Savannah College of Art & Design) facilities to get an up close look at majors in Beauty & Fragrance, Film & Television, Photography, and Painting. The girls also spent time with SCAD alumni, Cari Phelps, and Studio Manager, Jasmine Head, who operate Salacia Salts in Savannah, GA. They learned the story behind the development of Cari’s skin care business and had fun participating in a scrub making workshop with Jasmine. Two days were spent at the River Street Marketplace, where Organic Beauty had the privilege of serving as vendors, gaining valuable experience selling their handmade beauty products.
